In coordination with our project sponsors, Dr. Smith and Dr. Holland, our team worked to create a device that could interface with a bioreactor and appropriately hold an ultrasound probe to measure Doppler flow rates along with imaging tissue structu ... res. The current procedure to obtain these measurements and images involves removing the bioreactor from the favorable environment within the incubator. It is also difficult to set up and can disturb the cellular structures within the bioreactor. Our device is capable of directly mounting onto the bioreactor and interfacing the ultrasound probe to the bioreactor, all from within the incubator. This will reduce any mechanical disturbances that can occur when removing the bioreactor from the incubator, along with keeping the cells in a favorable environment within the incubator. Read more

The Marketing Innovation showcase brings together three connected artifacts t ... hat explore how AI is reshaping brand strategy, digital marketing, and organizational change leadership. The first artifact looks at AI adoption through diffusion theory, building on two Honors Leadership Seminar reflection presentations. One focuses on change leadership and the growing role of AI agents in organizations, while the other applies the Peruvian Water-Boiling Case to better understand why strong ideas often struggle to spread within a social system. The second artifact is an independent research paper developed during a marketing internship at GoCode, a vanlife startup. It introduces an Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy designed to complement traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as platforms like Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and ChatGPT begin to reshape consumer brand discovery and reduce traditional click-through rates. The third artifact is a presentation introducing Grover, an AI-powered platform for the vanlife and RV community, and framing its recommendation engine as a model for agentic marketing, where AI delivers timely, relevant, and trusted brand recommendations. To help with this challenge, the IUI Team has researched several communication strategies that may improve pa ... rent engagement. This report includes our recommendations for approaching the communication challenge: creating weekly newsletters, adopting new messaging strategies, and implementing incentives. We organized the report by strategies, progressing from least direct (contact by email) to most direct (incentivizing decision-making). To do so, we used a cross-temporal meta-analysis (CTMA) to track scores on the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET), a measure of emotion recognition ability (Baron-Cohen et al., 2001).
