Hello! My name is Adeline Reeves, and I am a senior at IUPUI pursuing a degree in Communication Studies. I am passionate about helping others and aspire to become a therapist, specializing in behavioral health, mental health, and family and marriage ... therapy. One area of focus I am especially drawn to is supporting children and families affected by alcoholism. I believe in the power of compassionate communication and aim to use my skills to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Throughout my academic journey, I have honed my ability to effectively communicate and connect with others, which has been essential in both my studies and my personal growth. My experiences have equipped me with strong interpersonal, listening, and problem-solving skills—traits that are vital in the field of therapy. Reaching crisis levels, burnout among U.S. healthcare workers has become a growing concern, not only affecting the well-being of workers but also patient care and costs to the overall healthcare system as well (Office of the Surgeon General, 2022; Ta ... wfik et al., 2019; Privitera et al., 2015). Systemic and bureaucratic constraints within healthcare, such as staffing shortages, demanding workloads, and intense emotional labor, are three main driving sociological factors contributing to increased levels of burnout. The purpose of this research is to examine the sociological causes of burnout, how they reinforce its effects, and provide evidence-based recommendations to reduce the inequality, specifically within Indiana.
