I based my portfolio--particularly the first and second writing projects--around a topic I enjoy: politics. While the political climate in this country is incredibly toxic, obnoxious, and ridiculous, it is also incredibly enthralling. Because of this ... and the fact that this is an election year (the first in which I was eligible to vote in), I took this opportunity to explore a new realm of a familiar contact zone and try to better educate myself before casting my vote.
