The problem is retaining compassionate home healthcare workers. This recommendation report proposal is generated as a means of recognizing the multiple variables creating this problem and the need for solutions to be uncovered. Donesty’s Loving Touch Home Care Services is a local home healthcare company in Indianapolis that aims to provide medical care and assistance to patients within the comfort of the patients home. The objective of Donesty’s Loving Touch Home Care Services is to provide patient healing through love, compassion and quality care. There is a disconnect between business’s aspirations for what patient care truly is and the delivery of these fundamental principles by employees. It is crucial that this problem be addressed due to its consequences on the quality of care that patients are receiving. Statistically it is recognized that patients receiving home healthcare often do not believe they were treated by an employee that has compassion for their ailment and pain. Multiple factors have been uncovered that show why healthcare employees often lack compassion in a patient setting some of which include burnout, lack of training and lack of appreciation for their work, all which lead to employees feeling undervalued and therefore impacting work done by employees. The root cause of the bigger problem surrounding retention of compassionate home healthcare workers needs to be addressed in order to move forward towards change. This recommendation report proposal strives to address root causes of the primary problem and offers solutions compiled using various research studies and journal articles. These solutions are designed so that Donesty’s Loving Touch Home Care Services achieves its mission of compassionate care and retention of their home healthcare workers therefore ensuring the delivery of exceptional care.
