I'm a passionate and dedicated individual graduating in December of 2025 from Indiana University Indianapolis with a Bachelor's of Science in Public Health. I will hopefully be starting my Masters in the fall and wanting to focus that on Epidemiology ... idemiology. I am currently working at the Marion County Health Department in the Water Quality and Hazardous Materials Department. I am very interesting in both the environmental side of public health as well as epidemiology focusing on infectious disease. My work at the health department and classes I have taken during my undergraduate have helped me foster the love I have for Public Health. My work on the guidance paper for cold plunges got me nominated for Rookie of the Year at the 2025 Fall Indiana Environmental Health Association conference. ​​​ Read more

I am nearing completion of a Bachelor of General Studies at Indiana University Indianapolis with a concentration in Arts & Humanities and minors in Music, Art, and Corporate and Organizational Communication. Over the past twenty years, I have studied ... died various forms and channels through which people communicate; I have also observed how organizational culture and communicative structure influence interaction and work dynamics in pursuing organizational goals. Life experience has given me a keen interest in increasing food accessibility in urban areas as well bridging the divide of deep polarization exacerbated by the Digital Age. I desire to apply what I’ve learned toward working for a more just, inclusive society by encouraging people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives to connect and establish common ground through shared storytelling, forming meaningful, collaborative community relationships to drive positive change. General Studies Capstone Portfolio for Elijah Maness, this portfolio encompasses my experience as a returning student and in the workplace.

This research stream addresses the effectiveness of current KIB restoration efforts at several of their properties in the Indianapolis area, which is critical for the biodiversity of the Indianapolis area. We use a variety of sampling techniques to a ... ssess invertebrate biodiversity and restored and non-restored sites. A collaborative group project uses established passive sampling techniques to assess the biodiversity of flying and terrestrial invertebrates. Individual lab members are also encouraged to develop a personalized project that focuses on a more specific aspect of biodiversity. Read more
